Dr Michael Symes has a subspecialty interest in foot and ankle surgery and complex lower limb trauma. Surgery offered includes total ankle replacements and minimally invasive foot and ankle reconstruction and reconstruction for neuromuscular and spasticity related disorders.
Dr Symes operates in public and private hospitals with appointments at Royal North Shore, North Shore Private, Sutherland and St George Private and Public Hospitals.
Dr Symes is actively involved in clinical research completing his Masters of Public Health in 2018. He is currently a conjoint senior lecturer with the University of New South Wales. He is an international member of the American and Canadian Foot and Ankle Societies and has numerous international publications and presentations focusing on foot and ankle surgery including total ankle replacements.
Dr Symes is married with a daughter and enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf and road cycling.
